26th Annual Art Hop Begins Sept 7th

A September mainstay of Burlington returns from September 7th-9th as the South End Art Hop Presented by SEABA begins its 26th run, featuring artists and exhibits. Over 30,000 people are expected to take part in events in the South End this weekend to view hundreds of exhibits, sculpture, fashion shows, music, live demos, and artist markets.

Along with this fantastic list of activities, there will be alterations to Burlington’s traffic system. Pine Street will be closed on Friday evening from 6 – 10p.m. There will be no parking or vehicle traffic from the north side of Howard Street to the south side of Kilburn Avenue during this time.

Pine Street will also close on Sunday morning from 9 – 11a.m. between Maple Street and Champlain Elementary School. Burlington Police and GMCS Security will be on hand to direct traffic.

Parking can be found in the area of Flynn Avenue, Lake Champlain Chocolates & Champlain Elementary School and the Innovation Center on Lakeside Avenue. While free parking is available in the South End, organizers are encouraging attendees to utilize other modes of transportation.

Two shuttle buses will be running on Friday evening between 5-10:30 p.m. These buses will stop at VCAM (208 Flynn Avenue), Lake Champlain Chocolates, The Innovation Center on Lakeside Avenue, and Dealer.com. Green Mountain Transit will be running their Pine Street Bus Route on Saturday from 6:15 a.m. – 6:40 p.m.

People bringing their bicycles down on Friday should utilize Local Motion’s free bike valet parking. This will be operating from 6-10 p.m. Friday in front of the Maltex Building at 431 Pine Street.
