As the holiday seasons nears, Park Burlington is excited to announce new programs and improvements to Burlington’s parking system.
On-Street Meter Changes:
Parking hours are changing! Starting 12/1/17, the Downtown Core (pictured on right), will roll back enforcement from 8am-10pm to 9am-9pm. Parking hours outside the core, will change from 8am-6pm to 9am-6pm. All 15-minute meters will also be changing to 30-minute meters to increase their value and encourage more use. These changes will encourage more visitors to visit downtown Burlington and help increase parking use of prime parking spots.
Church Street Marketplace, BBA and DPW will partner this holiday season to provide a $3 discount at all on street meters throughout Burlington using the ParkMobile App. Each Saturday will have a unique code and everyone with their own ParkMobile account will be allowed one discounted session on each of the Saturdays. Parking Garage Upgrades and Enhanced Safety
Security cameras were recently installed at Lakeview and College Street Garages; Marketplace Garage will have cameras by end of December. College Street Garage has all new LED lighting
and significant structural and drainage improvements. All new informational and wayfinding signage have also been implemented at City garages to help guide visitors to parking and educate people on parking rates, policies and more. All of these changes will help improve the customer experience and safety in our City garages, while also extending their usable life for decades.
The improvements are the result of City’s Downtown Parking and Transportation Management Plan as well as the City’s new sustainable infrastructure plan.
