On Saturday evening, the Department of Public Works closed down Marketplace Garage to complete fresh painting of parking spaces.
While work was originally scheduled to last throughout the day on Sunday, DPW crews were able to complete the project four hours early and re-open Marketplace Garage to drivers by 7am Sunday morning.
Earlier this summer, DPW began painting stairwells and railings in Marketplace Garage. This work came after public input that asked for improvements to the facilities at Marketplace Garage. Currently, both Cherry and Bank Street stairwells are completed; the center stairwell will be done within the next few months!
Currently, DPW and the Park Burlington team are working together to overhaul the condition and operations of all City operated parking facilities. The ultimate goal of this work is to provide visitors with the best possible customer service experience as they come to downtown Burlington.
