Dragon Boat Festival Set For Waterfront

The annual Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival will draw thousands to the Burlington waterfront on Sunday as teams compete and come together to raise money for cancer research.

Festival organizers have set up a detailed parking and transportation page to help everything run smoothly on race day.

There are a limited number of parking spaces available for community teams near Waterfront Park. These locations will fill up fast so guests are encouraged to arrive early.

Race teams should use designated drop & run locations to unload equipment prior to the race. This service is only available to individuals who are car pooling. Drivers should closely follow the directions of parking attendants to help the process move as quickly as possible.

Spectators should utilize city run, Lakeview and Marketplace Parking Garages. The College street garage will have limited capacity, due to ongoing repairs. Additional waterfront parking can be found at Union Station and the Boathouse lot.

Visitors should also consider Green Mountain Transit’s Free College Street Shuttle. It originates at the Renaissance turnaround and entrance at Fletcher Allen Health Care. Spectators and racers can park at the Water Tower Parking lot at UVM and walk over to the pick up at FAHC.

As with other waterfront events, Local Motion will operate free bike valet parking on festival day.
