Get Ready For First Night Festivities Downtown

First Night returns for its 35th annual event on December 31st. Vermont’s premier New Year’s celebration will have something for everyone.

The all day event will draw several thousand people to downtown Burlington and includes a wide variety of music, dance and other entertainment with a family audience in mind.

Buttons for this year’s edition of First Night are still available and can be purchased online.

Events will take place across Burlington with a specific focus on the downtown, which will make for an especially busy night for parking in downtown Burlington. Parking at all city facilities will be free as it is every Sunday. Check out our interactive parking map for more information about where to park in downtown Burlington.

Guests are encouraged to park at the Gutterson Fieldhouse lot (97 Spear St) at the University of Vermont. Free buses will run every 15 minutes to bring guests to and from events downtown. The last bus will run at 12:15am.

Drivers who happen to be downtown on New Year’s Eve should be aware of larger than normal number of pedestrians. With cross street access on Church Street being interrupted. Also, a small number of downtown meters will be unavailable to help performers and staff unload equipment.
