On Saturday, May 5th, Burlington will host the 33rd annual Kids Day Parade down College Street in the heart of the downtown.
Beginning at 9:30, the parade will draw a few hundred people in to the downtown and will lead to some temporary road closures as well as limited parking.
The parade will be staging on College Street, between Church and South Winooski. That portion of the street will be closed from 8:30 am until the parade has cleared the area at 10 am. College Street from South Winooski to Waterfront Park will be closed down for the parade at 9:30 am, and will open up after the parade finishes, at approximately 10:15 am.
In addition, no parking will be allowed on College Street between 7 am and 10:30 am. Cars will be towed to make sure the road is clear for the parade.
The parade will end at Waterfront Park, where crowds can enjoy food, games and entertainment. Once the parade reaches the Waterfront, crews will begin to reopen streets and the downtown will resume its normal traffic configuration. Check out the event’s website here for all details!
As always, Marketplace, College Street, and Lakeview Garage will be open and offering 2-hour free parking. Also, be sure to check out our interactive map to see the location of all public and private parking facilities, as well as meters in downtown Burlington.
