After nearly four months of gates up and free parking being offered at Marketplace, Lakeview and College Street garages, the City of Burlington will resume normal garage operations on June 15. Meter enforcement will also begin, but by only giving out warnings for a week. Beginning on June 22, cars parked at expired meters are subject to ticketing and/or towing.
The Covid-19 outbreak in Vermont triggered a “City Emergency” in Burlington and on March 17 gates went up and parking was free at the three municipal garages and on-street was unenforced.
On Monday, the gates will go down at the municipal garages and parkers will need to pull a ticket and pay the usual rate. The first two hours are free at all three facilities and it’s a maximum of $8/day at Lakeview and College Street and $10/day at Marketplace.
