Oktoberfest Brings Fall Fun to the Waterfront

A taste of Bavaria comes the waterfront this Friday and Saturday with Oktoberfest Vermont 2018. Once again year’s event will bring a capacity crowd.

Burlington Waterfront Hosts OktoberfestIf you plan on enjoying the over 40 featured breweries please do not drive to this event. If you are the designated drive, be aware that there will be no additional on-site parking for this event.

People traveling by bike can take advantage of Local Motion’s Bike Valet Program. Local Motion’s team will park your bike and ensure both your bike and biking accessories are secure. Burlington Greenway access on the waterfront will be impacted by this event. The eastern section of the Greenway will be closed from 4:30pm-10:30pm. The western portion of the path will remain open.

Designated drivers should head to Lakeview, College or Marketplace Garage for parking. The waterfront also offers parking at the Pease Lot and at the Main Street Landing Lot. Limited metered parking spaces are available on Lake Street, so it’s best to arrive early to get your spot.

As always Green Mountain Transit will run its free College Street Shuttle throughout the day. The bus picks up riders at the bottom of College Street.

While Saturday’s event, which begins at 5:00pm, has already sold out, a small number of tickets remain for Friday evening’s session which starts at 5:30. There is also a wait list for Saturday tickets.

For everyone heading to the waterfront this weekend, please drink responsibly and enjoy the fall weather. Park Burlington will continue to post updates on Twitter, Facebook and parkburlington.com. Additional information about Oktoberfest Vermont can be found at the info page of their website.
