Burlington, Vt. (March 9, 2020) – Park Burlington and the Chittenden Area Transportation Management Association (CATMA) announce the launch of a downtown employee commuter survey to better understand the parking and transportation dynamics in Burlington. Park Burlington is a city council approved public private partnership between the Burlington Business Association (BBA) and the Department of Public Works (DPW).
The last comprehensive commuter survey of employees in the Downtown Improvement District was done by BBA and CATMA in 2008.
“We are looking forward to hearing from all sectors in the downtown, but especially those in the service sector,” said Alex Bunten, special projects manager at Burlington Business Association. “This survey will provide critical direction in the development of incentives and opportunities for downtown employees to use alternative forms of transportation and improve parking.”
The survey will be open until the end of March and should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. At the end of the survey, respondents will have the option to enter a drawing for one of four gift certificates – $100 to Outdoor Gear Exchange, $100 to Leunig’s Bistro and two $25 gift cards to City Market.
“The survey data will be extremely valuable as we evaluate commuting issues and work to develop programs and services that will benefit employees, businesses, customers and the Downtown Business District as a whole,” said Sandy Thibault, executive director at CATMA.
The survey results will be analyzed by the team at CATMA to provide recommendations on the design and launch of a comprehensive transportation demand management program for the downtown district.
All employees working within the Downtown Improvement District are encouraged to participate at:
This survey is funded by Burlington’s Downtown Improvement District tax.
