‘Tis The Season of Parking Bans in BTV

We’ve reached the winter season here in Burlington and that means that there is plenty of potential for snow and ice.

When a parking ban is in effect, all cars must be off the street from 12am-6am in the downtown and 10am-7am in residential areas. Vehicles still on the street during the ban will be towed and assessed a $125 fine.

All parking bans will announced by 3pm at the latest, giving residents ample time to make other plans. With the declaration of a parking ban email messages will also be sent to all subscribers to Nixle. Anyone can check to see if a ban is in effect by calling 658-SNOW (7669).

During a parking ban parking is free starting at 10pm in Marketplace Garage (147 Cherry St), Lakeview Garage (41 Cherry St) and College Street Garage (60 College St) on the lower decks only. You must remove your car by 7:30am or you will be charged a full day’s rate. Drivers should not park on the roof of garages during a parking ban.
